The news
DZbotics has been accepted into two startup programs: Anthropic’s Claude startup program and Onshape’s startup program.
I heard back from Claude on 7 October, and from Onshape today. I am genuinely excited, so I wanted to share it with you right away.
Why we applied
DZbotics is a solo-founded hardware startup in Chennai. I am building desk companion robots, starting with Nameless.
Hardware needs serious CAD tooling. Every bracket, shell and tolerance starts as a model, and I do not want my tools to be the bottleneck.
We also plan to use AI for our next product and for the way we work: our internal tooling, our dashboards, and even this website.
And we are early. When you are this small, every bit of support on tools and infrastructure goes a long way.
What each program gives us
- Claude: API credits to build with. This covers our AI experiments, internal tooling and dashboards.
- Onshape: a one-year Professional subscription for our mechanical design work.
To be clear about what this is: we have been accepted into these programs, and we are using what they offer. That is all it is.
What it means for DZbotics
- Faster prototyping. Quicker design iterations on Nameless and on what comes after it.
- More budget for the hard parts. Money we would have spent on software can go to hardware, certification and manufacturing instead.
- A small bit of validation. It is encouraging to have two programs say yes this early.
What’s next
There is more to share soon on the next product and on how Nameless is coming along. I am building in public, so expect honest updates, including the setbacks.
If you want to follow along, or just say hi, get in touch. I read every message.
Thank you
Thank you to the Claude startup program team at Anthropic and to the Onshape startup program team at PTC. Taking a chance on a tiny robotics company in Chennai means a lot.
